I know what you’re thinking. You can’t possibly be OCD right? Because you’re messy. But OCD doesn’t mean being a notorious clean freak. That’s not it. OCD is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It means you are obsessive about a certain thing. It doesn’t necessarily mean cleanliness. Because that’s sure not me. I’ve calmed down quite a bit since I’ve been married to Meesh thank goodness. Here’s some examples of my OCDness before and now:
- (before) All food boxes had to face the same way. I was Really obsessive about this. I would Totally organize my cabinets and everything would face the same way and be in categories. I sorted all my canned goods and boxed dry goods. Crazy I know
- (somewhat now) Food can’t touch. I’ve Really calmed down on this one. But in general, you’ll see maybe 2 or 3 items on my plate because food on my plate cannot touch. Some foods (like corn and mashed potatoes) are ok to touch because they go well together. But I will freak out sometimes if food is touching.
- (now) Before I cook anything in the kitchen, I must clean all the dishes. All the dishes should be cleaned anyways, but if there’s one thing that’s dirty, I will feel the need to clean it before I do any cooking. Strange right?
- (now) Wet socks must die! I cannot stand wet socks. I will walk around barefoot on lava before I wear wet socks. That is just gross! Actually, this applies to all clothes. I hate wetness. And yes, ironically I hate being in the rain. But I love being in water like the pool or showers. I just hate wet clothes.
So those are just some of the OCD things I have. I have a few more but I’m just too lazy to list them. If laziness is OCD I’m definitely it.
Tell me your OCDness!
