Sweet Sunday

Today I’ll be hanging out with Katie, and we’ll probably do something photo-ish or filming a video for Tasty! We’ll see how the day goes. It’s really a great day outside. We’ll see what’s going on when she gets here.

I Spy - a photographer! This was taken during a photo trip to downtown St. Louis. It was during Strassenfest so it was quite a bit of fun, and there was a lot to see (and photograph!).

TGIF!

So much for a TGIF! This Friday was a pretty damn slow day. Thank God the day is over. Well, how to describe my day…

As usual, my day started out with a distress call from Katie, so her last days at her job (she has 1 week left) won’t be so hard. It’s always good to hear from her. Meanwhile, I also managed to get caught up with Jules, who’s getting ready to get her Mets blog going. It’s about that time right? Baseball season baby, yeah! (well I’m excited for the Mariner’s at least.)

The day was pretty blah in the morning as the clock seemed to flow backwards. Oh, and I did help out Joz with her site and got a new theme going for her. You should go over and check it out, because she’s trying to decide if she likes it or not. It’s been like a tennis match, going back and forth. So why not help decide and leave a comment?

To jump to a different subject, it seems Colin is having issues with his site too. It apparently doesn’t want to send any follow up emails to let you know a new comment has been posted. Any help here is appreciated, because we’re just about pulling our hair out on this one. And if you didn’t know, he did a reply to Rent by Danalyn, and you simply have to see it. He sang Seasons of Love, and he does a great job! The video is after the bump!

Oh! Luka is back to posting on the blog, so you really need to go there! And not just videos either, although that wouldn’t be a bad thing!

So here we come to the end, let me look into my magical mirror and see what other bloggers are out there on my mind… I see Melanie, Danalyn, cybr, Muse, and Pandora! Don’t forget the video after the bump!

My day in Beaverton

Mt. HoodSo yesterday, I went out to Beaverton, OR to visit Katie and to go to a book signing by Kim Harrison. The book signing was at Powell’s Bookstore, which I have to mention is HUGE. Katie was telling me that the big store (Powell’s CITY of books) is really a CITY of books. I can’t imagine the other stores being bigger.

The trip down there was pretty uneventful. I mean 2 hours driving on I-5… Boring! But I persevered, knowing that at the end of the 2 hour drive, I would be meeting Katie and Kim Harrison.

When I got there, I had to call Katie to let her know I was there, and meanwhile I had 2 hours to waste before the actual book signing. They had a place at that “mall” that the bookstore was in called “The Mac store” but it wasn’t a “real” Mac store, it was just a store that had Mac stuff. It had some great stuff in there, I just don’t have money to spend on such things right now!

When Katie got there, we ended up eating at Panera bread company, of where she has never been. I had to edumacate her that everything there was pretty much good, especially the French Onion soup. (I’m a regular Asiago Roast Beef / French Onion Soup person myself!) Of course, Katie doesn’t like onions (I never knew!) but she ordered the Tuna sammich and Tomato soup. She liked the tomato soup, and she remarked, “It reminds me of spaghetti… I have simple tastes.” LOL Ok, Katie, as long as you like it.

When we finally got to the book signing after spending much time yapping in Panera about nothing, we ended up sitting in the back. Which wasn’t exactly the greatest idea. When the book signing actually came, that’s right, we were the last to get our books signed. I’m sure Kim was tired and had carpal tunnel by the time we got to her. People had some great questions for her, some of which I’ll relay, the ones that I remember at least. I have a bad memory you know. Q&A with Kim Harrison after the bump.

All in all, it was a great day, we spent 2 hours in the signing, only because we were in the back. But it was fun, we got to yapper again, mainly about nothing. I did give Katie my address, so she’s now an “official” stalker. Cool! I told her, “Now you can stalk me!” She replied, “Like I’m not already?” LOL She’s so funny!

Me and kim harrison

Me and kim harrison

Me and kim harrison,
originally uploaded by psychodaisy.

Katie and i got to meet kim harrison, author of the rachel morgan books! we had some fun!

One thing I wanted to mention about Kim, anyone who was taking pictures with her, she had us also take a picture with her own camera. I just thought that was different. Regardless of the reason, I thought that was kinda cool. And when I become an author someday, I’ll have to do that too at book signings.

I’ll be at the Outlaw Tour today

In a few hours, I’ll be heading down to Powell’s Books in Beaverton, OR for a book signing. I’m just wondering how how many people will be attending. The last book signing I ever went to was for Bruce Campbell when he wrote his autobiography. I’m quite anxious to meet Kim Harrison, I’ve been a big fan of her books.

While there, I will be running into Katie to have some coffee and dinner. If you’re in the area, show up, I’ll be the Japanese dude with a white macbook. You can’t miss me I’m sure. If you are going to show up, let me know! Leave a comment or something.

Did I leave the gas on?

This morning seems like I’m rushing here and there and here and there. I get around to greeting my peeps, and first, what happens, I get an email from Katie telling me I dropped from the world. WTH? I’m right there, logged on GTalk. Then I get another message on Yahoo from Melanie: Hmm. No, I don’t see you online. WTF? What’s up with Google this morning? So I then notice that Katie is “offline”. Then I message Jules and sure enough I get the stupid error box : Cannot send your message bleah bleah bleah. Damn Google. what gives?

So I’m restarting apps, restarting browsers, going this way and that, rushing rushing rushing. Life seems like it’s a big rush sometimes doesn’t it? Anyways, finally after all this time, Google wakes up and now I can reach it.

Of course, I’m sure it could have been my connection to Google too. But you know what, it’s just easier to blame them. Danalyn and I say it all the time, “Google sucks”.

Insomnia, this and that

kitten sleepingSo tonight I’m struck with the Insomnia bug yet again. I’m tired, but I can’t sleep. I lay down and I’m wide awake. It sucks. Insomnia blows.

You might notice that the top graphic has changed away from my mac. It was a masthead made by Colin who said I had won it from last years Blogathon. Yay! It’s awesome isn’t it? I Love it.

In other news, my angelic, better half Meesh has Acute Bronchitis. At least it’s not Chronic Bronchitis which is supposed to be rather painful, or so I was told by her. We’re coping though and I swear if she’s not feeling good tomorrow I’ll have to detain her here at home. She’s feeling guilty that she’s not at work and thinks she should go. She’s so nice, she puts tears in my eyes I’m telling you.

In even more news, if you’re looking to find out what’s going on with American Idol, there’s really no need to wait or watch the actual show. Spare yourself and stop by Pandora’s or Daniel’s to get a good idea of how the show went down. As a matter of a fact, I prefer either one of them over Ryan Seacrest. Perhaps they should try out for host next year? You never know!

cybr is in Malaysia right now, and got sick after drinking some water at a local restaurant. Which is too bad because he’s in Kuala Lumpur and I could think of a lot of things better to do than be sick in bed! Wish him some good thoughts and take a visit over there.

I think I’m just about done with the link pimping on this episode of “Yoshi’s Insomnia attack”. If you’ve made it this far, please don’t forget that tomorrow is Free for all Friday and you’ll be able to make a post on this site to talk about anything! There will be a “sticky” post when the form is available to use! Get ready to pimp your own site! No spammers please, those will be deleted!

What’s happening across the Internet?

Well, since I can’t really think of a really good post, I thought I’d go ahead and see what other people are doing on the net. I did watch the Interview with Matt about Wordpress 2.5 and other stuff @ Yahoo. That was interesting. I’m anxious to see what the back end will look like. He says that they’re making it “simpler”. Wow. I don’t know how much more simple you can get.

cybrpunk is obsessing about capsule toys. I have to admit I’m a bit jealous, I really want a Goomba for myself!

Katie posted some song lyrics, of which I don’t think I know any of. But that’s nothing new, I’m not up on the music with the kids nowadays.

Pandora is discussing American Idol - the girls. I would feign interest, but even that is too much effort for me. American Idol just doesn’t aMuse me anymore.

Daniel keeps continuing to kill me laughter. He’s good at that.

Muse will never get used to the smells in HK, and you know what, that’s good as far as I’m concerned.

So there we have it, a small summary of some things I read today.
