Happy Halloween!

It seems Halloween has come awful early this year. It almost feels like I remember just celebrating Meesh‘s birthday in March. I guess time Really does fly as you get older. How sad is that?

Meanwhile, we’re enjoying our iPhone 4S’s, they seem to be working fine. They are such upgrades to our old iPhone 3GS’s that we cannot complain I think. I haven’t found any issues with the battery, but Meesh might be having some issues herself. We’ll see if we can get those fixed.

Did you dress up for Halloween this year? I admit, I did not. Meesh got a ghost headband thing, and she is wearing her Skeleton earrings. I love those. They glow in the dark too! Or they’re supposed to at least. What did you dress up as?

Do you celebrate Halloween?

It’s come to my attention that Halloween is not always celebrated. I did not realize this. It Really comes as a shock to me since it’s such a fun holiday. Not to mention all the supernatural components about it.

I’m just wondering why people wouldn’t celebrate this awesome holiday. Is it because of all the supernatural aspects of it? Is it perhaps the amount of sugary delights that come with it? Or perhaps it’s because of the movie John Carpenter’s Halloween? Were you scared enough to never go out and celebrate it? Interesting.

And for this very reason, I must create a poll. I’d love to hear how many of you celebrate this glorious holiday. Please feel free to leave comments on how you celebrate this great day too!

We all float down here…

Anyone who knows me knows I have this great fear of clowns. In honor of Halloween, I thought I’d make a post about the biggest fear I have aside from who is going to be president in 2012.

Did you read the book by Stephen King called IT? The cover is displayed to the left as you read this post. Honestly, before reading that book, I was a faithful Stephen King reader. I think the book literally scared the crap out of me to the point where I couldn’t even pick up any Stephen King novel. Seriously.

If you’re not familiar with the story, I’ll try not to spoil it for you, but I’m sure you’ve at least had to have seen the TV movie version of the story. Basically it’s a story about people who come back to the town of Derry, Maine to face a horror that no one should ever face. A killer clown.

Now, allow me to say that nothing scares me more than clowns. I wish I had the video of my awesome friends who scared the crap out of me one time with a clown. Allow me to give you an introduction to why they did this. Aside from the fact they were very cruel people.

This was a time when I was in the Navy and we were in Corps School, learning to be future corpsman. Basically a medic, but don’t ever call me that. You can call me doc or a sailor or a corpsman, but don’t ever call me a medic. Anyways I digress.

We would walk to the hospital from our barracks and there was this bridge we would walk over. You could see down below and I remarked to a friend, “Wow, this reminds me of IT and the river the kids would play at. That’s just creepy and scary.” They all knew I had a great fear of clowns, and of crossing that bridge. Mainly because I didn’t want to look down there and see a clown. That would have been horrible.

So one night, I believe it was our last week in Corps School, they decided to scare the crap out of me. They rented a clown outfit, big red nose and all, and a bunch of balloons. Now anyone who’s seen IT or read it, know the clown usually appears with a bunch of balloons and just waits for you by the side of the road. Instead, this time, there was a clown at the end of the bridge. (OMG just writing this is creeping me out. I can visualize it.) Mind you, all this is being videotaped. Because it was so dark, you couldn’t see very well at the end of the bridge. We were happily walking across the bridge when the last lamppost barely highlighted the balloons.

I think the first words out of my mouth were, “a-a-are those balloons?” I was frightened. It was then that the clown stepped into the light better and I just screamed. Screamed like a little girl, screaming out, “OMG it’s a clown! It’s a clown!” I remember getting behind one of my friends and pushing him forward. The clown got closer and closer and by then, I knew it was a setup, but I was still frightened. The clown still creeped me out. And I think I might have peed in my pants a little.

Yoshi is much better now and but still has weird dreams where clowns take over the world. Ronald McDonald is the ringleader of them all.

Happy Halloween 2009!

Jack O LanternsHope everyone has a great and safe Halloween this year!

Don’t eat too much candy and get sick either!

Also a happy birthday for all my friends that are Halloween babies, although I think I only know Doris who is a spooky baby! LOL

iGoogle

Screen shot 2009-10-05 at 7.01.13 PMWhat theme do you use for your iGoogle Page? I’m just curious what other folks are using. Right now, I’m simply using the Halloween theme only because it’s Halloween. But normally I use the Edward Monkton theme. You know, the one with the “Madness Hamsters”? I simply love them!

Happy Halloween

Well, it’s Halloween. Somehow it seems like this holiday has lost a lot of magic for me, mainly because I’m diabetic and I Really, Really loved the candy. But it doesn’t make this holiday any less fun in other ways. According to the wiki how to, the Sarah Palin halloween costume will be one of the most popular ones this year. I think that’s pretty funny. I’d like to see a bunch of Sarah Palins running around trick or treating. That might be pretty damn funny.

On a Totally different note, over at girlrobot, I saw a most awesome and funny video, called “First Asian guy”. It’s a pretty well put together song about going out with your first asian guy. And as girlrobot point out, how hung up asian guys are on being so unpopular with non-asian women. Are we Really that hung up? Probably. :P Not to mention, this guy is Really very good. Video is after the bump!

Free for all Friday

No, not here. I forgot all about it. Over at Danalyn’s. She remembered that it’s free for all friday and opened it up. Meanwhile, I’ve forgotten all about it and hopefully I’ll remember it for next month. Although I have to admit, will people even be blogging on the day after Thanksgiving? Anyways, take a visit over there, make a post. You’ll most likely be reading a post from me there.

Also if you haven’t already, check out the web comic, A Little Scary. Tomorrow, (yes Halloween) you get to find out what Stan’s costume is. I don’t know about you but I’m highly anticipating it.

Yatta!

You know how in Japan they have Really strange things in their pop culture? Yeah, well I know this is old but I was talking to Danalyn today and had to share with you this funny thing that just popped into conversation. I was telling her that for halloween, I plan on being Hiro from Heroes. I figure all I need is a sword and to go around saying “Yatta!” Which of course brought to mind, Happatai. So anyways, Danalyn sent me the “Yatta” song and I just had to watch the video again, and share with you, my lovely readers, this video. Video after the bump!
