Ok, most of you know how much of a pain iPhone auto correct can be. There’s even a website called Damn You Auto Correct! I’ve personally had some pretty hilarious ones on my phone, and I try to screenshot them so I can share. But not always do I remember to do so. In this case today, while telling Meesh about this years Emerald City Comicon, my iPhone wanted to auto correct William Shatner’s name. Somewhere in the Star Trek Fan’s universe, someone is crying. Who knew Shatner was a type of ice cream? LOL

iPhone Daylight Savings Fail
So this past weekend, you might have noticed something with your iPhone (in the event you own one like me). I’m sure you’ve heard the news about it already, but just thought I’d share my experience and how it Really does matter to me.
I’m not saying I was late to work. I work at home, so it’s Really rare that I’m late. I’m Really dependent on my alarms on my iPhone for my medicine. Now, granted, I do have an hour (or two) of lee way for taking my meds and insulin. However, sometimes I won’t wake up immediately when the alarm sounds. That’s the reason I have the lee way! But being an hour late Really threw me off and wondering if the alarm Really went off and I slept through it. I just wanted to say that Apple Really failed with that little glitch. It’s all good now, but I just wanted to complain about it, because let’s face it, I can.
Did iPhone fail for you too? Tell me about it!
[Updated] I forgot to mention that to fix the alarm issue, you only need to reset your alarm. It worked fine for me.
iPhone wins
So I realized that my contract Really expires on 6/1/09 instead of 8/24/09, so it looks like we’re getting the iPhone a bit sooner than I think. I know that it’s about the same time as the iPhone 3.0 update, and I don’t think there’s any new hardware (that I know of). So it looks like we’re going with AT&T instead, hail to the Empire! Don’t think I’m hating on verizon. I’ve got a wireless data plan with them, and they work great for me. Nothing like being able to connect to the net no matter where I go. (not that we do much traveling mind you.)
So that’s an update.
Verizon vs. AT&T
So I’ve been having a dilemma lately on what to do once our contract expires with Sprint. I’ve been with Sprint for almost ten years now, (although they won’t say that) and I’ve been a pretty loyal customer of them. But I think I might need to break away from them and go with someone else. I’ve been contemplating either Verizon Wireless or AT&T (iPhone). I know there are others out there like T-Mobile but I know that Meesh doesn’t like T-Mobile at all, so it’s definitely out.
That leaves only Verizon and AT&T. (that I know of that are any good.)
Right now, they’re both looking good. But I want to know what you guys think. The biggest thing AT&T has over Verizon in my mind is rollover minutes. But is that included with an iPhone plan? Do I have to specifically sign up for rollover? I know this is a question for the people at the stores, but I’d thought I’d ask, since I know a lot of you have iPhones.
So let me start off with what we need. We’re simple people and we don’t need much. But there are things we definitely need:
- cell to cell unlimited. If we’re on a family talk plan, I’d expect to never pay for any calls to each other. If there’s an additional fee involved, if it’s small, that’s ok, since we’re doing that now. Of course, in our case, if the called person has Sprint we don’t pay at all. (this is good)
- Some kind of text messaging that’s good. Right now, we have 300 txt messages a month to each other. That’s quite a bit for us, I think we actually use about 50% to 60% of it now.
- Unlimited data goes without saying. I think both companies provide that. But no one actually says that.
Other than that the phone is pretty easy. I mean iPhone versus another smartphone (most likely blackberry if we go with verizon I think).
Any opinions? Suggestions?

Glitch hampers iPhone launch @ CNN.com Figures. Everyone has to have one right? I’m so not buying an iPhone for sure now. After all the issues people have had? Unless it gets cheaper of course.
