Memorial Day

It seems awful weird that there is still a whole week left, and yet we’re celebrating Memorial day. It almost seems like it should fall closer to the end of the month, but the “rule” says “the last monday of May” and so here we are, the last Monday of the month.

Please take a moment this day to remember all those who fought for the country, and thank them in your mind if not aloud. There are many veterans who have lost their lives for our country, and deserve a thanks. Actually, all veterans receive thanks, but that’s not what today is for. They already have a veteran’s day in November.

I remember visiting Washington DC one time in the past with a couple friends and we visited the Arlington Cemetary. I tell you, it’s pretty damn creepy and sad. You can see rows and rows of tombstones. I just have to think that all these people are people who fought for this country and perished. It just saddens me. But today is about them, and I won’t dwell on it. Let’s just say thanks for serving our country. Semper Fi!
