2010 in review

So with the new year, it’s only a given that there would be a review of the past year. I would have to say, in general, 2010 was a pretty blah year. I mean it had its ups and downs, but overall, only most of the bad things of the year have been remembered by myself. The Space Needle fireworks were better than last years for sure.

I do have to say, however, it has also been just a bit over a year and a half since I’ve received my kidney transplant and things are looking good in that department. However, it’s been offset by all the problems I’ve been having because of diabetes complications. And I do want to admit that my diabetes is not normal for most diabetics. I have the “malignant” diabetes as my doctor calls it. It’s like my diabetes has caused everything possible that can happen to a diabetic to happen. Good times I say.

To focus on the good, the Seahawks have won the division title. They even broke the record of winning the division and having a losing record. I say go Hawks! Sure, they might be considered the best of the worst, but hey, they’re the best at something, right? Good times, for sure. I Really hope they go on to win the Superbowl. And kudos to Charlie Whitehurst.

2010 was also the year I got pancreatitis. Man, I don’t wish this on my worst enemy. I would have to say it’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to me. I thought I knew what pain was, but this was exceedingly the worst. I also had what’s known as DKA or Diabetic Ketoacidosis. I just want to say this is a very deadly situation and people have been known to die from these conditions. I think someone is Really watching out for me and I’m pretty sure I’ve used about 5 of my 9 lives. Hopefully I don’t use any more. I don’t need to do that to Meesh. It could also be my karma too. I must have had some serious fun in my prior lives. I want to go on record to say that it’s not Really worth it. Be good to others, and most importantly, treat others as you would treat yourself.

Here’s hoping 2011 is a better year. New Year’s resolutions? Well, it’s not Really a resolution, it’s more a lifestyle. I just want to make a difference in other people’s lives in a good way. I think that should be what everyone strives to do. And also to make my own life more enjoyable. I think everyone should strive to do that too. How about you?

It's December already?

Well, it seems this year seems to have gone by real fast. And just for that, I thought I’d make the infamous bulleted post.

  • WordPress 3.02 is out now. Of course you probably already knew that since the dashboard lets you know. Unless you never update your site.
  • My friend will be getting married on New Year’s Eve. Wow, don’t think you can forget that anniversary. At least he better not!
  • I’m still not sure if I’m going to bring my @beingdiabetic blog over here. Just a random thought to fill this list. LOL.
  • I simply can’t believe it’s almost 2011. Does this mean the end of the world is nigh? (2012 if you didn’t realize.)
  • Are the TSA Really getting away with those pat downs? Isn’t it just Security Theater?

I think that’s it. Isn’t that enough? Perhaps tomorrow I’ll have a random post.

Happy New Years 2009!

happy_new_yearsOk so last night Meesh and I had a shot of Yagermeister to bring in the New Year. That was good. Now, 2009 is officially here and well, so far it’s not so bad. Well, it is only the first day after all. As for resolutions, I told myself I wouldn’t do those, because they’re normally things I should always do (happiness to the world, doing more good each day and just typical stuff) and I don’t want to have to break the resolutions.

But, one thing I plan to do is post regularly on a regular basis. It’s one thing that I recall tiggerprr saying about her blog. She wanted to get back into it.

He looks like a pink nightmare!

nutcrackerIn case I don’t happen to run into you on the street (yeah right) or while in chat, I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I just can’t believe this year has gone by so fast. And it’s Christmas already and I haven’t even done any shopping at all for people. How horrible am I?

But I promise that next year, I’ll even have cards and presents for everyone. I promise! I can make it a New Year’s Resolution!

With that, I will share a video, Christmas in Japan, sent to me by Danalyn. Video after the bump!

New Year's Resolutions

2 posts in one day? Say it isn’t so!

So I don’t have many resolutions this year. Well, maybe I do…

  1. Take more photos
  2. Exercise more
  3. Get healthier
  4. Buy a house
  5. Clean up all my old stuff and get rid of it.

I think that just about sums it up. I of course have quit smoking, so I don’t have to put quit smoking on my list anymore. And if you’re curious, I’ve been smoke free for 2 years and 3 months. But you know, I still want a smoke every now and then.

What resolutions did you make if any?
