I was considering a lot of different types of scenarios for the theme this week, but I finally settled on this one, since I couldn’t find what I really wanted. This is the Legislative Building in Olympia. The columns really fascinated me for some reason or another. I really love going to the Capitol Campus to take pictures.

Last year I took a trip out to Wenatchee because Meesh was out there working on fire dispatch, and I took this at the hotel that she was staying at. I love the cloud formations. Very cool. You can see the sun trying to take over and making the shot a bit too bright in that area.

My sister and I went up to Mt. Rainier this week, and went to Narada Falls, which is on the way up to Paradise. The water was flowing pretty good, and we were getting sprayed on while I took this photo. Lots of fun!

Meesh’s Mini Cooper has the shiniest side view mirrors! Definitely nice and shiny after a great wash.

When I was out looking at houses for my parents to buy, I had to take pictures of them. Oddly enough I needed an organization system because I went to see many houses at a time. So to separate the pictures on my camera I took pictures of my feet. I know, a rather mundane way to keep track, but it worked.

Photohunt : Candy

While on a road trip down to Texas (from St. Louis), cybr and I encountered these candy/soda machines at a rest stop in Mississippi. I’m sure you’re wondering why this picture is such a big deal, but you probably should notice the lack of chains and bars around the machines. That was an astonishing thing for me, since all candy and soda machines seem to be behind chains or bars. It made me think there are still some places where the crime isn’t so bad.

Who knew that the Hard Rock Cafe Orlando is the largest (or at least was at the time) Hard Rock Cafe in the world? We also found out that Orlando is the lightning capitol of the world too. Ooh, that was fun. Can you feel the enthusiasm? Anyways, I thought I’d share this pic since I love it so much!

No Photohunt today
For those of you looking for the photohunt here today, I’m not participating today, only because I can’t think of a good photo for this one. The theme is “Time” and well it didn’t seem like I had the time to get it done. Come back next week though, I’ve got something then. If you’re looking for other participants, you can find them at the Photohunt website.
Posts are getting slow around here, as it seems I have so little to talk about. Honestly, it’s because I can’t seem to find any fodder to talk about to be honest. Anyone who’s been coming to this site on a regular basis knows that I like to throw out news about different things and basically just rant or discuss the topic. Unfortunately, I haven’t found much of interest in the news. It seems like there’s a lot of sadness and just plain craziness going on. I’m just not sure what to say honestly.
But let’s enjoy the weekend folks, it’s supposed to be nice in my neck of the woods. We’ll see, as I heard sunshine but I saw some rain in the weather news.
What are your plans for this weekend?
Photohunt : unique/funny signs

You’re probably wondering what I found so different about this sign. Well, I just thought that the “no weapons” was kind of an obvious thing and quite the “duh” thing to list. But I know with some people you have to stress it. But yeah, I saw this sign at a waterfall on the way up to Paradise at Mt. Rainier. Very pretty area.

Photohunt : thirteen (13)

This one was hard for me. But the other day we went to a Japanese restaurant and sat at Table 13. I recalled this photohunt and had to take this picture of the table number. It was a good lunch though, so the number didn’t make it unlucky!

Photohunt : Twist(ed)
Click thumbnail to view a larger imageSo while we were at Olga’s Diner in NJ, we had to take a picture of Action Figure Jesus holding some twisted bacon. Actually, yes, we go on vacation and take pictures of Action Figure Jesus in different poses. Perhaps you recall Statue of Liberty and Jesus.

Photohunt : Glass

While washing the Mini-cooper with Meesh, I noticed that I reflected pretty well in the rear window. I thought the look through the glass and the reflection was kinda neat. What do you think?

Photohunt : high
Click thumbnail to view a larger image
I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do for this week’s theme, since I haven’t taken any pictures lately that portrayed “high”. But I found this in my stack of pictures, and I’m sure my friend won’t mind if I showcase him on the Internet. This was taken during a trip to Akiyoshidai, a limestone cavern that draws many tourists across Japan. This was a lift from the top entrance of the caverns to the bottom entrance. It was a lot of fun and we were pretty high up on the mountain as you can see.

Photohunt : Metal

For this weeks theme, I thought I’d go ahead and include the biggest chunk of metal I’ve ever seen, the Statue of Liberty. This day had to be the busiest day ever. We went on New Year’s Eve weekend, and believe me, I felt like everyone was there with us. We had a good long walk from the parking lot, but we managed. It was a big day of fun. I’ve never been on the ferry to go see lady liberty. The most beautiful thing I’ve seen in a long time.

I Spy – a photographer! This was taken during a photo trip to downtown St. Louis. It was during Strassenfest so it was quite a bit of fun, and there was a lot to see (and photograph!).
