It’s a New Year, Yoshi Brown.

So I hear it’s now 2010. I was watching something the other day and they were asking people how to say 2010. So is it said like: “Twenty Ten” or is it said like “Two Thousand Ten”? That’s a decent question. I think personally I would say Two Thousand Ten. Only because I’ve been say Two Thousand Nine and so on. But that’s just me. I think I’ll probably make this a poll.

Anyway, I guess this is a new year and people are getting anxious about 2012. It’s getting closer. But I think I have to share the opinion of many out there who believe the Mayans just ended the calendar at 2012 because they never anticipated anything after that. I mean, eventually you gotta run out of stone to write on right?

But I digress. The new year brings in new resolutions, and I have a few. I’d like to finally get hopping on my writing. I plan on finishing at least my first story this year. At least. I’m also considering getting back into web hosting. So if any of you are looking for any hosting, keep me in mind. I plan on having some free hosting, really small stuff, but enough to get people started. I’ve just gotta get some site builder and automated processing set up to get ready.

What New Year’s Resolutions have you set?

CigarettesHave any of you heard of this? ocB alerted me to this phenomenon. There are apparently companies out there that are screening people for smoking. That’s right. They’re testing to see if they have nicotine in their system. Apparently, they’re concerned their health benefits will go up, and they want to keep the costs low. I’d like to think that they want to provide a clean environment for their workers, and don’t wish to endanger them, but I’m pretty sure (and ocB assures me) it’s because they want to keep the health costs down.

There is also the mentality that a non-smoker will not take as many breaks as a smoker. Then on top of that, they are saying that the mentality of a smoker could be worse than that of a non-smoker. Meaning of course, if the smoker doesn’t get to smoke, they get really agitated. While I can’t say this never happens to me when I did smoke, I have to admit that when I did smoke, I took a lot more breaks. But I’m not defending the reasoning here. I’m just stating a fact. Are non-smokers more productive than smokers? I doubt it. Non-smokers just find other ways to pass time. That’s my opinion.

What’s your opinion? I personally don’t care either way. I think the reasons might be a bit questionable. It could go either way. So I’m presenting you with a poll! What do you think?

Stupid Sunday

Ok, so it’s Sunday and everything feels off because of the silly Daylights Savings Time thing. And I keep telling myself that even though it’s noon, it’s really 11am. I’ll be doing that for the next month or so I’m sure.

Blog of the MonthAnyways, I just realized that I’ve been awarded The Blog of the month award from Kailani! How cool is that? I’m not exactly sure what the criteria for awarding this is, but I’ll go ahead and pass this on to the following: KG, ocB, and Neptunebaby. I <3 them!

Ok, so today, I want to do a poll. It’s how to handle comments and how to reply to them. Here’s the dilemma: should I reply to comments by editing the comment and adding a reply to the end of it, or should I just reply via email? Or do I just comment to reply? Here’s my problem. If I reply by editing the comment, this does not necessarily go back to the person commenting, so they might never see it. If I reply by email, yes, the original commenter sees it. However, no one else does, and well, that doesn’t make it very fun to me. Then finally, if I respond by commenting, then I feel like I’m just commenting to make comments. Yes, I know I’m weird.

So what do you think? Here’s the poll:

She has a shower phone?

The other day, my friends and I were talking about when to take a shower. I know, exciting right? But the question basically was, do you take a shower in the morning, or at night before you go to bed? Now, the assumption of course is you’re not a vampire who works by night, sleeps by day. I myself am a morning shower person. I definitely need the shower to get me up and going in the morning. Once I wake up, it’s to the shower. (well, usually, sometimes I might take a bit longer to get there since I work from home.) There’s also a video after the bump!

But this got me curious to know, what my readers do. Because I’m nosy about that. Therefore, there is a poll! Please remember this is not a poll about frequency of showers, it’s a poll for when you take a shower.
