nutcrackerIn case I don’t happen to run into you on the street (yeah right) or while in chat, I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I just can’t believe this year has gone by so fast. And it’s Christmas already and I haven’t even done any shopping at all for people. How horrible am I?

But I promise that next year, I’ll even have cards and presents for everyone. I promise! I can make it a New Year’s Resolution!

With that, I will share a video, Christmas in Japan, sent to me by Danalyn. Video after the bump!

Okay, so this is one of the best mac vs. pc commercials ever. I totally love the end of commercial where it’s “off the air” lol!

I felt the “quickie” or “aside” post I made about Sidney Pollack passing away was perhaps a bit too little. I really loved his stuff. He was also an actor, and did quite a bit of acting. I think that one of the best things I’ve seen him do, however, was the Cingular commercial that you saw while going to the movies, when they tell you “silence your cellphones”. (video after the bump)

Yes, we know he did the movies like “Out of Africa” and “Tootsie” (directed) but he also produced and starred in “Michael Clayton” as well as many other movies and shows you probably didn’t think he was in. Take a look at his IMDB profile and see for yourself. Sidney got around.

It’s just getting sad the people I grew up watching are passing away, like cybr said. It’s just crazy. It’s a great reminder that I’m just getting old. But I’m not even that old! I’ll be turning 40 this year, so this is my “Around 40″ time. Ironically, there’s a Japanese dorama called “Around 40″ but I won’t get into it just yet. Soon.

So you might have heard about the guy who video taped going about 164mph on I-5 on his motorcycle. He also happened to get pulled over just shortly after that video. Does anyone here think that perhaps it’s some sort of fake thing going on here? Maybe I just don’t get it, but why would he be allowed to post the video on youtube of all places if the video is showing proof that he was speeding? Wouldn’t the police confiscate the video and keep it for themselves? You can find some more information about at KOMO TV news. The video is after the bump. Here’s a quote from the video description:Me taking my Honda CBR600RR out for a test run. I got pulled over shortly after, and this video got me convicted of careless driving and reckless endangering. I advise other bike riders to obey the posted speed limits.”

The fastest I’ve ever gone is 150mph on the Garden State Parkway in Jersey. I’ll never do that again. But honestly, it was such a rush.

BTW, this is post 666. I thought to do something special, but I think this post is just fine.

Ok, so I have to admit that I love Ueto Aya. If you didn’t know, she’s a japanese actress and j-pop artist, who has been in quite a few Japanese dorama. If she’s in it, I’ll watch it. But that’s how I watch most of my dorama. The latest I saw her in was Abarenbo Mama where she is a rather young and newly become step mother, where she proves herself to be quite capable of being a mom. Very cute dorama.

I just watched the Attention Please special, where they go to Australia. Very good special. I love it when they do specials of doramas I like. But I was just reminded how cute she is! I just love the ending theme, Pretty Woman (originally by Roy Orbison) performed by Kimura Kaela, a great J-pop artist. I love her version of this song. Plus the ending credits show Ueto Aya’s character wearing different CA (cabin attendant) uniforms in it. Pretty neat. Video after the bump!

So tonight, we’re lucky enough to be going to see the Mariners play some baseball. They’re playing the Texas Rangers tonight. I’ll of course be rooting for the Mariners and hoping to take some good photos. We’ll see how it goes.

In other news, I’ll be meeting up with Melanie as well. Should be a bunch of fun. We’ll probably hang out and do dinner at the restaurant across the street from Safeco field. Well, that’s the plan anyways.

I also wanted to share one of my favourite Mariners commercials as well. It’s an oldie, but definitely a goodie. (and for those of you not in the know, Seattle and Spokane are on opposite sides of the Washington state) video is after the bump.

Heavenly StairsSo my mom sent me an email, and told me to check out this link. Little did I know that it would be an amazing adventure with incredible photos and a great story! The Mt Huashan Hiking Trail in China may well be the most deadliest trails in the world! Not only is it just a “trail”, you do the entire trek without special tools or equipment. Possibly with just white gloves that you buy from an old lady at the bottom. This trail is incredible, and amazingly dangerous. There would be no way in the world you could find a comparable park in the USA. I could only imagine hearing about the number of people dying just from a heavy wind coming across the mountain.

For those of you who want to experience the video, it’s located here. The video entails the section of the North Peak where you walk across the planks. Most people would probably never see this section unless they were really daring and wanted to risk their lives.

A part of me would love to try this someday. But then the sane side of me says “hell no!” Yeah, I’m pretty sure I’ll never get around to it. But the pictures are breathtaking!

Well, today I finally got in my new glasses. I love them! And I know, I’m sure you’d like to see them on me. Well, I actually posted a video (after the bump) where you can see them. Tomorrow, my sunglasses should be in, but they’re the same ones, I just got new lenses put in them because my prescription changed (I can see now – all you drivers that share the same road can thank me later) and the lenses were really, truly, scratched up.

I’m happy I can see and have new styling IZOD glasses!

Real DollSo maybe you’ve heard of it, but maybe you haven’t. There is a company that manufacturers “dolls” that are very very realistic. They’re known as Real Dolls. This is apparently a very lucrative business. But it might surprise you that not everyone buys these for the apparent reason. They have them for companionship.

Perhaps you have seen the movie Lars and the Real Girl where Lars brings home a new girlfriend from the internet. The only thing is, she’s not real. But Lars treats her like she is. This is pretty much what many people are doing out there.

I know what you’re thinking. It’s sick, right? It’s just downright crazy? I mean, they’re not real! seriously. They probably need to have their heads checked. While I agree with some of that, you can’t help but feel bad for some of them. ocB sent me a link to a video (after the bump – this is not safe for work!) that documents a few guys with their real dolls.

Wow! I have to say that I’m disgusted, scared, and petrified. And yet, I can’t help but feel a little sorry for them. But watching this video really opened my mind up a little too much I think. I like to think that I’m very open minded, and this documentary really pushed them. I’m really glad that the guys in the documentary realize that the dolls are exactly that, dolls, and they weren’t thinking they were real. Because that would just totally creep me the hell out.

But honestly, what I think really creeps me out is how real the dolls are. They are almost too real! I think that might even be the problem people have with certain CGI type films. It’s too real. We know it’s not real therefore we must reject it as fake. It could just be a human flaw, but honestly. It’s still a bit creepy to me.

Oh and the ladies looking for men? Yes, they have Real Doll men. Although I don’t think they have quite the variety.

What do you think of all this?

Eddie Izzard - StrippedFor those of you who didn’t know, Eddie Izzard is going on tour again, and tickets are on sale March 16, 2008. This one is the Stripped Tour. I don’t know about you folk, but I’m pretty excited, and will have to drag Meesh to go see him.

For those of you who don’t know who Eddie Izzard is, you might know him from playing the role of Wayne Malloy of The Riches. I have to admit I don’t watch the show. I didn’t really get into it. I’m sure it’s a great show, but I love to see Eddie doing stand up instead of acting.

If you didn’t know, he’s also a transvestite, the cross dressing comedian. He claims to be an “executive” transvestite, because there’s absolutely a difference between him and the “weirdo” transvestites. If you don’t find this funny, you’ll just have to check out the video after the bump. Be careful, the video should not fall upon young ears, and may not be safe for work due to cursing.
