Weekend Update

Roslyn's CafeSo this weekend was spent on a phototrip to various places in Washington State. The final destination was Wenatchee, where Meesh is currently working on Fire Dispatch. On the way, I managed to stop by Roslyn, WA, where the show Northern Exposure was filmed. It was quite the experience. They kept everything pretty much the same, which I think is Really amazing. You can view the rest of the town on my Northern Exposure Photo Set.

I also managed to visit Snoqualmie, and take pictures of the Snoqualmie Falls again. It’s so beautiful. I think someday, Meesh and I will have to go back to Salish Lodge. That was just a lot of fun.

Also while out at Wenatchee, Meesh was telling me about the Leavenworth. It sounds so awesome! It’s “Washington’s Bavarian Village”. It sounds like so much fun! We’re definitely going to have to check it out, sounds like some planning I have to do! I Totally see a new road trip in the future for us, with the Mini Cooper.

Weekend Update

Saturday was pretty eventful. While Meesh was at a baby shower, I drove out to Mt. Rainier and took some pictures. I also posted a shot of the waterfalls on my photolog as well. I’ll probably keep with the Rainier shots on the photolog, because it was just fun. :) I <3 my Nikon D200.

We also went to go see Bourne Ultimatum this weekend. I liked it. It was pretty action packed from beginning to end. I mean just about literally, there weren’t too many scenes where you were just waiting for something to happen. Instead, you were gripping the seat the entire movie. I loved it because they touched a bit on the novels. And of course, they hinted at another movie I suppose, but they could just as easily end it where it was. Honestly, my opinion is that it could easily be a bond-ish type thing, where they make a lot of movies. I’d look forward to it, as long as it’s like this movie. If you liked the first movie, you should see this I think. Forget about the second movie.

Sunday was relaxation day, the day to recuperate before the storm of the week. Actually this week, Meesh might go out for another 2 weeks on fire duty again. That means there’ll probably be more of me being bored and doing stupid stuff on the net. Might be a good thing, might not be. LOL

Last Week Update

Well, I wanted to do a weekend update, but it was pretty boring. Well, actually Sunday wasn’t bad. Saturday, we just went around to various stores. Looking for a Wii. Of course there were none. Which makes me want to tell you about the Best Buy ordeal.

Weekend Update

This weekend, we went to go see Josh Blue at the Washington Center on St. Patrick’s day. If you don’t know who Josh Blue is, he was the winner of Season 4 of Last Comic Standing. He also has cerebral palsy. In order to understand why this is important, you must watch his act. Needless to say, he’s very hilarious.

Watching him at the Washington Center was slightly different than his stand up from when he was on the LCS contest, because he could curse. Let me tell you I think that was one of the funniest things ever, because he would stand there after such a joke with cursing, and cross him arms, make a serious face and say, “This is not what I voted for on that show.” Of course, imitating anyone who would frown upon all the cursing. I could not stop laughing.

If you get the chance to watch Josh Blue stand up anywhere, then you should go see him. You can also buy his merchandise at Bad Arm Productions. *snicker* that dude is funny.

Oh, I’d also like to take the opportunity to also say that he’s an Evergreen State College alumni.

It’s Monday

No summary, no recap, because this whole week, I’ve been in bed mainly, due to me being so wimpy and taking pain meds.

But I did have a thought or few this week, and I was just thinking that technology has Really made us lazy. In particular, I’ll point out the invention of the PVR (Personal Video Recorder). I call it PVR instead of Tivo, because Tivo isn’t the only method of recording shows nowadays. Although the word Tivo seems to be synonymous to PVR’s. But I digress.

I’m not sure how anyone else’s PVR works, but I run Beyond TV and they have a feature that will cut out commercials for you. I found that not all do this, particularly Media Center, which Meesh is running on her ginormous computer. It doesn’t always work very well, and yes, I have to use the fast forward or skip forward manually, but 95% of the time, it’s just about dead on.

So now, in order to watch a show, I Really prefer to watch it later, after it’s been recorded, and the commercials skipped out. If given the choice of watching the show “live” as opposed to “recorded”, I’ll watch it recorded, just so I can skip over the commercials.

While this is not exactly a conventional laziness, I still think of it as being lazy. Too lazy to watch the commercials.

[edit] I just wanted to add a few things, I’ve added a Top Commenters section, under “Extras”. It gets reset every month, just in case some of you are wondering why you’re not on the top of the list anymore. :)

Weekend Update

This last weekend was a pretty long weekend. Although I did a little bit of work on Monday.

I Totally forgot about PhotoHunt Saturday, although I’ll admit that I didn’t have a photo for the theme.

We went looking at Mini-coopers this weekend. Meesh test drove one, just to make sure she Really liked it I suppose, but I knew she would love it. Talking to the salesman, we found out that the original colour she wanted, Purple Haze is no longer available. What the hell? So I wasn’t on drugs when I made a Mini-cooper with that colour on their website. Her second choice, Mellow Yellow, we found out, is going to be discontinued as well. So I think she’ll definitely be getting that one.

We also went to Hooters for our friends birthday party. I’ve never been to Hooters myself, but I did notice that everyone goes there for birthdays. I’m pretty sure the bulk of customers are there for the birthday thing, because they do some crazy stuff to you. I will admit they do have good food. I had the philly cheese steak. Not bad at all! All I know is one thing: I don’t want my birthday there. I want my birthday, (like a lot of my past birthdays) to just go by without incident.

Monday, we went to go see Ghost Rider. Great movie. There was a lot of cheese factor, but when Nicholas Cage turned into a flaming skeleton, it was pretty damn cool. I Really hope it does well in the Box Office. Again, I don’t spoil movies, so I won’t talk about it here. But if you like Marvel movies, then you’ll probably want to go see this one. Plus, it’s nice to see Sam Elliot in a movie again.

Weekend Update

So this weekend was pretty unexciting. I worked on Saturday, because of an urgent call from home office about some big major new events, and I wanted to get things close to done before Monday. It turned out all well and good I think, since things haven’t quite moved that far yet. (keyword: yet)

On Sunday, we did the usual bowling thing (you know we’re in a league) and I wouldn’t normally post about this, but something good actually happened. My friend Karen said that she was going to bowl a 200, and that I had to roll one too, because of the Asian connection and all. (she’s half japanese) So I said, “ok.” Sure enough, game 3, I got a 201. Yes, please applaud, because my average is 117 normally. (pathetic I know) And we actually beat our opposing team. They’re Really good, but did real crappy last night. Probably because they felt sorry for us! But no Seriously. It was a good bowling night. Meesh did very well herself! She’s doing Really good, so much better than me!

This next upcoming Saturday, Meesh will be hosting a jewelry party, and I’m in charges of horderves, and was wondering if anyone had any favourites and suggestions! I was planning on making at the very least meatballs (although I’m not sure what time the party will start… this may impact what I’m cooking) and some other appetizer types I’ve been wanting to try.

Any ideas people?

Pre-weekend update

Ok, so it’s not quite Monday, but I thought I’d post about the weekend. Here’s a summary of what’s been going on around here:

1. Inspired by Tiggerprr’s Project 365, I decided to start that myself. It’s now at projectPhoto.

2. You’ll notice I finally got around to putting up a favicon. (or you might not notice) Yes, it is me, acting goofy. If you want to see a larger version, feel free to take a look in the about section. Yes, that’s me acting dorky!

3. I’ve done some changing around in the appearance of a few things around here. I was generally thinking of coming up with a new design since I’ve had the turtle for a while, but you know, I think I’ll keep it as it is for now. Although I am considering putting up a Valentine’s theme for the month of February. (don’t hold your breath)

4. I’ve been researching videocasting as of late. (as if I didn’t have enough right?) And I’m pretty sure I’ll be trying that out in the future. If not that, then podcasting. But for the podcasting, I’m hoping to have a partner to do it with, so if anyone is interested, please let me know. I’m Really better when talking to someone then narrating to a microphone.
